Glassmasters' Om Symbol Roundel

Robert Ealba, president of Masterwork, Inc. (D.B.A. Glassmasters), commissioned me to design a new 6.5-inch glass roundel for the Glassmasters line, an “Om Symbol.” Glassmasters uses a unique process of applying vitreous enamels to glass to create effects like those seen in stained glass windows. This process allows the images to change with sunlight and candle light. The changing light highlights the vibration which what the “Om Symbol” represents.

Meditation has been an important practice in my life. Two of my favorite places to meditate are the meditation room at the Edgar Cayce Center in Virginia Beach and the Lotus Shrine at Yogaville, Va. It is wonderful to be with a large group chanting “Om,” because you can feel the energy change in the room. Om is a truly universal symbol. I think it’s best explained by the German mystic, Lama Anagarika Govinda:

"Om appears to the one as a symbol of a divine universe, to the other as a symbol of infinite power, to the next as boundless space, to another one as infinite being or as eternal life. " Lama Anagarika Govinda - Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism

My desire is that this new glass piece will be hung in a window, yoga studio, or on a personal altar and will remind us of the oneness and sacredness of all life.

The 6.5-inch roundel comes with a chain for hanging and a stand.
